When does the Silent Auction begin and end?
The auction officially opens for bidding at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2022.
You can bid until closing at 8:00 pm the night of the Gala, Saturday, August 27, 2022.
Do I have to attend the Gala in-person to bid on an auction item?
Not at all! All bidding, regardless of in-person or virtual, is done online through our secure auction software. This is a real-time auction so regardless of being in the room or sitting on a couch at home, you can easily bid against friends!
How do I know I won and auction item or the raffle?
You will receive a text if you are the highest bidder for any auction items.
How do I pick up my Auction Items?
If you attend the Gala in-person, all items you were the highest bidder on will be grouped together by your bidder number and ready for pick up at the end of the event.
If you attend virtually, we will mail certificates and gift cards. Other items can be picked up in San Antonio or mailed for an additional fee. CAMP staff will contact you to arrange delivery or shipping.
Please note: some items can be shipped, but the winner is responsible to pay any shipping fees prior to the item being shipped.
Why is this event being held both in-person and virtually?
For over a decade, this event has been held in-person. However, for the last two years (due to the pandemic) CAMP has held a virtual gala. We learned a LOT during that process and want to encourage even more participation in the gala this year.
What is the difference between the in-person event and watching it virtually?
In-Person: The in-person event is held live at the San Antonio Country Club. Here, attendees can see the live and silent auction items in person, participate in the paddle raiser live, bid during the live auction, and directly hear stories from guest speakers.
Virtual: The virtual event is a modified gala. You can still bid on the silent auction and donate to the paddle raiser. However, the stories of impact will be pre-recorded and streamed during the event.
What is the dress code for the live event?
Cocktail attire is the dress for the evening! Cocktail attire is a balance between formal and casual and elegant and comfortable. Men typically wear a suit and tie while women wear a cocktail dress or dressy slacks.
Why do you want my credit card information when I register for the Auction?
Because you will be checking out of the auction through our online system, we need to have your credit card on file to ensure payment for any items you bid on or choose to purchase. At no time can any of the CAMP staff see your credit card details as they are secure in the Greater Giving processing system. Your card is temporarily stored in the system until the Gala is over. Your card will only be charged if you were the highest bidder on an item, or if you gave a donation.
If you have questions about this process, please contact Lauren Weiss, Director of Donor Relations at Lauren.Weiss@campcamp.org, and she will gladly help you.
Are my details secure in your system?
CAMP takes the security of your personal information very seriously. From your address to credit card information, we have internal processes in place to ensure your data is secure. Additionally, we use a secure software to run the auction and donations the night of the Gala. This system will accept your credit card information, and protects the data (including your card number). This is for your safety and to ensure your transactions are truly your own. Please note that CAMP staff does not have access to your credit card information at anytime.
If at you have questions about a transaction, please don't hesitate to reach out to Lauren Weiss, Director of Donor Relations, at Lauren .Weiss@campcamp.org.
